Unprecedented Scale
Using our proprietary gene knockout technology, we have systematically discovered the physiological and behavioral functions of nearly 5,000 genes.  Through this initiative, known as the Genome5000™ program, we have identified and validated more than 100 drug targets and created a unique, growing clinical pipeline.  Our goal is to advance 10 drug candidates into human clinical trials by the end of 2010 as part of our 10_TO10 initiative.

All of our drug targets have been identified internally from our Genome5000 program.  Currently, we are working to translate our discoveries into medicines that will fight human diseases with a primary focus in the fields of cardiology, gastroenterology, immunology and oncology, metabolism, neurology and ophthalmology.

With multiple drug candidates in human clinical trials, the idea of mining the genome to develop new medicines is no longer a distant objective but is becoming a reality.  Our drug pipeline consists of both small molecule and antibody drug candidates, which diversifies our approach to drug discovery and development.
